In December 2019 I had an amazing trip to South East Asia, starting in Singapore, then going to the beautiful Island of Koh Lipe in Thailand and ending in Malaysia. This was largely a vacation, a bit of time away from work and hockey, however I did take the opportunity to meet with the president of Malaysian ice hockey and his staff. We had a good discussion and I was shown around their great national rink. Malaysian hockey seem to be doing some really good things and look to have a good future, it definitely gave me some good ideas for Algerian hockey.

Aside from hockey, Singapore is a great modern city, Kuala Lumpur is a great modern city, and Koh Lipe is a paradise Island I could have spent a lot longer there. The food in all these places was amazing. I’d love to return to that part of the world again in future.
