Growing up around Islington and Hackney areas of London it always means a lot when the local newspapers recognise my achievements and want to discuss my accomplishments. Earlier in the year I was in the Hackney Today newspaper, and this week there’s an article in Islington Gazette, a newspaper thats been around for over 100 years and I remember it growing up. I actually began playing hockey in a small rink in Islington as well so it’s quite fitting. I feel as if I’m doing my bit to not only publicise Algerian ice hockey but also British ice hockey which doesn’t often get much coverage in the UK.
